Management Accountant
We're seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Australia Finance team based in Brisbane on an initial 6-month contract, covering a period of parental leave.

Who We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Australia Finance team based in Brisbane on an initial 6-month contract, covering a period of parental leave.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business intelligence support across the Australia Business Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, turning financial data into meaningful insights, and contributing to strategic business decisions.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic professional services environment. You'll bring strong technical accounting capability, advanced reporting skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
As a Management Accountant at KCB, you will:
Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including management reporting packs and operational performance reports.
Analyse financial and operational performance, providing insights to support effective decision-making.
Coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities, including quarterly forecasts and annual business planning processes.
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and support broader financial planning initiatives.
Create, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and business intelligence reporting.
Monitor key performance indicators including utilisation, backlog, revenue performance, and DSO.
Support month-end processes, financial reviews, general ledger corrections, and overhead monitoring.
Assist with ESG reporting and ensure adherence to financial governance and reporting standards.
Support accounts payable workflows, vendor setup processes, and collection forecasting activities.
Partner with leaders across the business to provide financial analysis, reporting, and operational finance support.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and data quality.
What You Bring
Along with previous experience within engineering consulting/construction, professional services, or project-based environments, you will also have:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
CPA qualification (or equivalent) or be working towards completion.
5-7 years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience supporting senior leadership teams through financial analysis and performance reporting.
Strong experience with ERP systems, some Power BI experience, and advanced Microsoft Excel reporting and modelling including proficiency with Power Query.
A sound understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A mindset of continuous improvement with an interest in reporting automation and process enhancement.
Working knowledge of BST software would be advantageous.
Experience working across local and corporate finance functions.
