Junior Geotechnical Engineer - Mining

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) is seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join our office in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This role is part of KCB’s Mining Environmental group, and typical projects are related to the design of tailing storage facilities and the management of mine waste. This role offers both office and field work, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement.
In this role, you will:
Contribute to projects involving site investigations, slope stability evaluations, numerical analysis, foundation systems, tailings storage facilities, dam design, and earthworks
Participate in field activities such as drilling programs, core logging, laboratory coordination, instrumentation setup, and ongoing monitoring
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases—from initial concepts through construction
Receive mentorship and technical guidance from experienced professionals in a supportive and growth-focused environment
Travel to project locations across Canada and potentially internationally
Qualifications

A degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering, with a strong interest in continued professional growth
2–4 years of relevant industry experience
Eligibility for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in New Brunswick
Familiarity with slope stability, seepage analysis, dam engineering, and earthworks (preferred)
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
