Senior Hydrogeologist
Senior Hydrogeologist - Brisbane
At KCB, our purpose is Sustaining the Future, and we apply this purpose through practical, risk‑informed solutions to complex environmental and engineering challenges. Guided by our values of Passion, Integrity, and Excellence, we focus on building trusted relationships, delivering high‑quality work, and supporting our clients and communities over the long term.
We have a thriving Brisbane geoscience team of talented, passionate, high-integrity people delivering technical excellence across mining, dams, water, and civil infrastructure projects. We draw on a broad range of geoscience and engineering capabilities and offer the benefits of a global consultancy paired with the agility, flexibility, and direct access to senior leadership that larger firms often struggle to provide.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a senior hydrogeologist to help guide and support our East Coast geoscience capability. This is a role suited to someone who brings:
Passion: for meaningful work, for helping clients, and for building a strong technical team
Integrity: trust, respect, accountability, and professionalism
Excellence: delivering robust, defensible, risk‑informed solutions to complex hydrogeological problems
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects that will continually challenge and enhance your hydrogeology skills. About KCB and Our Work

Our East Coast Geoscience Team, based in Brisbane and Newcastle, includes hydrogeologists, groundwater modellers, geochemists, water quality modellers, closure specialists, and geospatial analysts.

You will:
Lead and review complex hydrogeological studies, including conceptualisation, geological and hydrogeological interpretation, and development of management strategies.
Provide senior technical input into assessments for dewatering, aquifer injection, contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, and groundwater management plans.
Lead or supervise analytical and numerical modelling for groundwater systems, including those associated with WRDs, TSFs, and major infrastructure.

Oversee preparation of high‑quality technical deliverables, reports, and proposals.
Provide technical assurance and mentoring to junior and mid‑level hydrogeologists.
Build strong client relationships and support BD efforts to expand our NSW project portfolio.
Support project managers and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team across geoscience and engineering.
What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geosciences (post-graduate degree in Hydrogeology is preferred);
15+ years’ hydrogeology experience across fieldwork, data analysis, conceptual model development, assessment, design, and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing proposals and technical deliverables.
Proven ability to mentor and lead colleagues while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
A strong client focus and the ability to build long‑term, trusted relationships.
