About the Role

We are looking to add new talent to our Ecuador Team to support a diverse portfolio project across Latin America and internationally.

The Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead complex hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, and water resources projects while supporting the continued growth of KCB's operations in Ecuador and across the region. This position combines technical leadership, project management, team supervision, client engagement, and business development responsibilities.

In this role, you will manage multidisciplinary project teams, oversee field investigations, coordinate directly with clients, supervise engineering staff, and deliver high-quality technical solutions for mining and infrastructure projects. You will also play a key role in mentoring team members, supporting strategic business initiatives, and promoting KCB's commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence.

This Role Will Give You the Opportunity To

• Lead hydrotechnical and water resources projects from planning through delivery.

• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Act as Project Manager and coordinate directly with clients.

• Oversee field investigations and technical studies related to hydrology, hydraulics, and hydrogeology.

• Review and approve technical reports and deliverables.

• Support business development, proposals, and client relationships.

• Mentor a team and promote a strong safety and quality culture.

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has

• Degree in Civil Engineering, or Fluid Mechanics Engineering.

• Professional Engineering registration and academic credentials recognized by SENESCYT or eligibility to obtain recognition in Ecuador.

• 15+ years of experience in hydrotechnical, water resources, mining, or infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and hydrogeology.

• Experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.

• Advanced proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and MODFLOW; familiarity with QGIS, AquaChem, Aqtesolv, AutoCAD, GoldSim, Global Mapper, Leapfrog, and ArcGIS is an asset.

• Advanced English skills; Portuguese is an asset.

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
