About the Role
We are looking to add new talent to our Engineering team to support a diverse portfolio of mining, geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil infrastructure projects across Latin America and internationally. The Junior Engineer (Level B) role offers an exciting opportunity for engineers with experience to contribute to complex engineering projects while continuing to develop their technical and professional capabilities.
In this role, you will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering analyses, field investigations, hydraulic and geotechnical assessments, civil design support, and technical reporting for mining and infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to apply engineering judgment, manage project tasks with moderate independence, and collaborate with senior specialists throughout project execution.
This Role Will Give You the Opportunity To:
Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, and design documentation for review by senior engineers and project managers.
Support the integration of engineering designs with closure, environmental, and social project requirements.
Participate in planning and supervising field investigation programs, including drilling campaigns and in-situ testing activities.
Process, manage, and interpret information from field investigations, laboratories, and external stakeholders.
Analyze laboratory and field-testing data, including geotechnical and material characterization results.
Perform geotechnical evaluations including slope stability, seepage, settlement, consolidation, filter compatibility, and mass balance analyses.
Process and evaluate monitoring data from instrumentation systems such as piezometers, inclinometers, and settlement plates.
Develop volumetric surface models, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and quantity estimates for engineering projects.
Support the design of mining and infrastructure components.
Contribute to dam breach and tailings facility assessments by preparing technical inputs and engineering analyses.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has:
Degree in Civil Engineering.
Two to five years of relevant professional experience in consulting, mining, geotechnical, or civil engineering projects.
Strong understanding of engineering design principles, technical reporting, and interpretation of drawings, plans, diagrams, and specifications.
Experience with engineering software such as GeoStudio (Slope/W, Seep/W), AutoCAD, Global Mapper, Google Earth, and related technical applications. Experience with Civil 3D, Rocscience, FLAC, Muck3D, Strata, or similar tools is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, and Power BI.
Intermediate English proficiency; Portuguese language skills are considered an asset.
