The Opportunity:
Our Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. is looking for a Project Control Coordinator to join our Mining Environmental Group (MEG) in our Vancouver office. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the success of a professional team while gaining experience in office, project, and professional systems. You will gain exposure to complex, mining-related projects and acquire skills you can leverage to develop a successful career.
The primary role is to support teams of engineers and scientists working on complex technical projects. Specific duties will vary from project to project but will at a minimum include the following:
This role will give you the opportunity to:
· Review Go-No-Go and track approval to initiate proposal project and budget.
Liaise with project manager for complete, accurate and approved engineering agreements, contracts, purchase order, and Project Management Plan from award through project opening to closeout activities.
Monitor compliance of purchase order, change order, contract, authorized project management with ISO registered management system.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, completion of project management plan and work with business unit accountant to complete the project setup.
Review contract terms and conditions, identify potential risks and exposures, insurance verification and enforce contractual terms with project teams and identify gaps to management.
Review Project Monitoring Reports and communicate with managers of issues and findings and coordinate presentation to Risk Assessment Committee.
Support continuous improvement of contract administration processes, templates, and documentation standards.
Maintain and update the master contracts register, tracking key milestones, scope, obligations, deliverables, renewals, bill rate change and critical dates across active projects.
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for potential claims, disputes, and contract negotiations.
Design and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across project reporting.
Prepare quarterly Operating Committee reporting.
Assist project managers and managers on a daily basis.
Other contract administration duties needed.
What We Require:
5+ years of Canadian contract administration experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting.
Integration with project team and understand their perspectives and communicate effectively with an operational mindset.
Ability to interact and communicate with others with a natural inclination for collaboration.
An organized self-starter with a strong work ethic who works ahead of what is required.
Strong attention to detail balanced with an awareness of the bigger picture.
· Positive approach to people and find creative solutions to problems.
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, professional, and defensible contractual correspondence.
Maturity and professionalism to maintain confidential information.
Strong Excell skills required, experience with a global project accounting and resource management software (BST preferred) and SharePoint a strong asset.
What's Offered
The salary for this position is $75,000 to $110,000 per year. The salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level. Along with continued career development, KCB offers:
