Our Power and Transportation Business Unit is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane office. In this pivotal role, you’ll guide business development, support electrical design scopes across hydropower, utility, mining, and infrastructure projects, and help grow a dynamic local team. This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Establish and foster relationships with key clients in Queensland and the rest of Australia.
- Review client requests for proposals and develop scopes of work, design methodologies, and cost estimates
- Lead the electrical design of complex and unique hydro utility, transportation, and mining projects
- Ensure objectives for project deliverables, budget, and schedule are met, and client expectations are fulfilled
- Collaborate with KCB’s offices and the management team regarding resources, as well as work closely with local subconsultants and subcontractors
- Ensure work is compliant with Klohn Crippen Berger’s Integrated Management System
Attributes & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- RPEQ & CPEng registration or eligibility preferred.
- Ideally 10 years progressive experience in electrical engineering design for hydro utility, transportation, and/or mining projects.
- Proven design and management experience in a variety of projects related to:
- power generation, distribution, and transmission.
- low/medium voltage switchgear and transformers.
- motors and motor control centres.
- protection coordination.
- control panels and instrumentation.
- cable systems and grounding.
- Knowledge of regulatory design and safety codes.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and reliable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Queensland drivers licence.

- Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering design for hydroelectric utilities, transportation systems, and/or mining projects.
- Proven ability to lead and contribute to a variety of project scopes across these sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making and coaching skills, especially your ability to train and mentor young professionals.
- Passion for business development, strategic business planning, particularly in developing and growing a team.
- Strong initiative, innovation and commitment to technical excellence as well as your enthusiasm and drive toward long-term success.
- Ability and willingness to engage remotely with teams in offices around Australia and overseas and to work autonomously.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills including your experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondence.
- Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills and your ability to build long-term, successful relationships with our clients and our project teams.
