What you would engage in:
Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out of our Vancouver laboratory. The role of Laboratory Technician will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Conduct tests of foreign and Canadian soils
- Support internal clients with assigned lab and field equipment related to geotechnical field tests
- Carry out laboratory index tests
- Maintain equipment, including calibration, to ensure standards are met.
- Compile test data, analyze, and preparation of results
- Interpret and evaluate test results
What we require:
We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. We do however require the following qualifications:
- A diploma in engineering technology or a degree in civil engineering, with a track record of continued development
- At least one year experience related to geotechnical testing
- Familiarity with ASTM standards
- Ability for CCIL Certification (C&D)
- Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements
The salary for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level. In addition to salary total rewards includes:
