Engineering Geologist
We're seeking Engineering Geologists to join our integrated and multi-disciplinary team, where you fulfill a technical role focused on engineering geology for mining projects.
At KCB, our purpose is Sustaining the Future, and we apply this purpose through practical, risk‑informed solutions to complex environmental and engineering challenges. Guided by our values of Passion, Integrity, and Excellence, we focus on building trusted relationships, delivering high‑quality work, and supporting our clients and communities over the long term.
We are building a thriving Brisbane team known for passionate, high‑integrity people delivering technical excellence across mining, dams, water, and civil infrastructure projects. We draw on a broad range of geoscience and engineering capabilities and offer the benefits of a global consultancy paired with the agility, flexibility, and direct access to senior leadership that larger firms often struggle to provide.
Who We’re Looking For
As an Engineering Geologist at KCB, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects, predominantly within the Mining and Resources sector. This technical role will provide you with an opportunity to further develop and grow professionally as you work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high quality geoscience and engineering services to our clients.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who brings:
Passion: for meaningful work, for helping clients, and for supporting and contributing to the performance of a strong technical team
Integrity: trust, respect, accountability, and professionalism

Typical responsibilities include:
Assist with conceptual and detailed investigations for foundations conditions, in situ material properties, construction materials and construction monitoring of mine waste tailings and waste rock storage facilities.
Support investigations for civil mining infrastructure – water/sediment dams, roads, and plant site earthworks and foundations.
Undertake desktop assessments, primarily geological / geotechnical data collection, manipulation, interpretation, management and reporting.
Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
Provide support to other projects and teams as required, particularly during periods of when engineering-specific project workloads are light.
Work in accordance with KCB’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System, actively participating in a safe and responsible work culture.
